Bathroom Remodel
Project Overview
This master bathroom underwent a complete transformation! The client wanted to replace the outdated 80s style with a sleek, modern black and white design. We started by removing the old tub to make room for the star of the remodel: a custom 6-foot walk-in shower. To achieve a clean and bright look, we chose white subway tile for the shower walls and added a touch of luxury with white penny round mosaic tile for the shower floor.
For a bold contrast, we used black hexagon tile on the bathroom floor and extended that black accent into a niche inside the shower. To enhance the effect, we applied white grout on the floor for a classic design finish. The client loved their existing vanity, so we updated it with a crisp white solid surface countertop that complements the new tiles. Sleek new hardware completed the look, tying everything together seamlessly. This remodel shows how dramatically a space can be updated while keeping key elements intact.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the main challenges of this remodel was working with the client's existing vanity while still achieving a fresh, modern look. Rather than replacing the vanity entirely, we opted to repurpose it by installing a new countertop and hardware, saving both time and budget. Another challenge was creating a balance between the black and white elements without overwhelming the space. We achieved this by carefully selecting contrasting tiles and using white grout to soften the impact of the black floor tiles. Finally, making the walk-in shower both luxurious and functional required custom design work, ensuring that the new layout maximized space and provided the retreat-like atmosphere the client desired.
